My will isn’t that old, do I need a new will?

A Will can be changed, modified and amended or entirely replaced to meet the specific circumstances one may have. A Will can be changed or revoked by the person who created it as long as that person has the capacity to do so. The easiest way to change or revoke a Will is to tear it up, but you can also change a will by adding to it amendments or changes. These changes are often called Codicils. You can add to or take away from you Will thereby revoking prior portions of your Will by simply amending it. It can be revoked entirely or amended or changed as long as you have capacity to do so.

This can be something as simple as changing the name of your personal representative, leaving a specific request, adding or even taking away a gift or bequeath.

Will Codicils are a quick and relatively inexpensive and easy way to update your Will without changing the whole thing.
